Once upon a time there was a great big lion and a tiny little mouse.

很久很久以前,有一只很大的狮子和一只很小的老鼠。

One day the little mouse was looking for some food when she saw the lion lying under a tree.

一天,小老鼠正在寻找食物,这时,她看见了躺在树下的狮子。


The lion opened one eye and saw the little mouse.

狮子睁开了一只眼睛,然后看见了这只小老鼠。

He caught the little mouse in his paw.

他把小老鼠抓在爪子里。

“Please do not hurt me, Mr Lion,” the little mouse said. "One day, i may be abe to help you."

“请不要伤害我,狮子先生。” 小老鼠说,“也许有一天,我能帮助您。”

The lion laughed and laughed but he let the mouse go.

狮子哈哈大笑起来,他放走了小老鼠。

"You are too little," he said. "You cannot help me."

“你太小了。” 他说,“你帮不了我什么。”

But the little mouse squeaked, "I can help you."

可是小老鼠吱吱叫到:“我能帮助你。”


Some time later the lion was caught in a trap.

不久以后,这只狮子被困在了陷阱里。

"Help,help," roared the lion.

“救命啊,救命!” 狮子吼叫着。

A monkey heard the lion roaring.

一只猴子听到了狮子的吼叫。

He saw the lion in the trap and he said. "I can help you."

他看见了陷阱里的狮子,并说:“我能帮助你。”


The monkey tried and tried to help the lion.

猴子试了很多方法来救狮子。

He scratched and scratched at the ropes but he could not get the lion out of the trap.

他不段的抓扯绳子,但还是没有办法把狮子从陷阱里救出来。

"Help,help," roared the lion.

“救命啊,救命!” 狮子吼叫着。

A snake heard the lion roaring.

一条蛇听见了狮子的吼叫。

She saw the lion in the trap and she hissed.“I can help you.”

她看见了陷阱里的狮子,并嘶嘶地说:“我能帮助你。”


The snake tried and tried to hellp the lion.

蛇试了很多方法来救狮子。

She tugged and tugged at the rope but she could not get the lion out of the trap.

她不停地用力拉绳子,但还是没有办法把狮子从陷阱里救出来。

"Help,help," roared the lion.

“救命啊,救命!” 狮子吼叫着。

An elephant heard the lion raring.

一头大象听见了狮子的吼叫。

He saw the lion in the trap and he trumpeted."I can help you."

他看见了陷阱里的狮子,并大声地说:“我能帮助你。”


The elephant tried and tried to help the lion.

大象试了很多方法来救狮子。

He pulled and he pulled at the ropes but he could not get the lion out of the trap.

他不断地扯着绳子,但还是没有办法把狮子从陷阱里救出来。

"Help,help," roared the lion.

“救命啊,救命!” 狮子吼叫着。

The little mouse heard the lion roaring.

小老师听见了狮子的吼叫。

She saw the lion and she squeaked, "I can help you."

她看见了陷阱里的狮子,并吱吱地说:“我能帮助你。”


The little mouse gnawed and gnawed at the ropes.

小老师对着绳子不断地咬啊咬啊。

Her sharp teeth cut through the rope and at last the lion was free.

她尖利的牙齿咬断了绳子。最终,狮子得救了。

"Thank you," said the lion.

“谢谢你。” 狮子说,

"You may be little but you can help."

“你虽然很小,却可以帮助别人。”

And the little mouse squeaked and said, "Yes, I can."

小老鼠吱吱地说:“是的,我可以。”
